As a Mobile Support Engineer, you’ll handle daily queries in relation to diagnosing and resolving vehicle faults and carrying out maintenance, diagnostics and repairs as required, all whilst building solid relationships with your customers.

The role does not require any shift work or call outs, nor will you be asked to make any repairs roadside, all work will be carried out in depots or garages. You’ll be provided with a van, tools, fuel card and a company phone.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and detail root cause failures and estimate retail repairs, logging and reporting back to the service team as required.
  • Diagnose both mechanical & electrical faults using industry diagnostic equipment and client technical manuals.
  • Provide on the ground technical support to our customer and ensure that all technical issues are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
  • Take ownership of the entire warranty repairs process, ensuring work is completed in a timely manner and all return parts are labelled and regularly returned to the team.
  • Proactively promote and sell services and parts to customers.
  • Act as the interface between the Regional Service Manager and the customer workshop operatives relative to the customer base.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork appropriately and in a timely manner to meet company standards.
  • To undertake any other duties conducive with the effective operation of the post.

 

Essential Skills and Competencies

  • NVQ level 3 / City and Guilds relating to Heavy Vehicle/PSV engineering or equivalent
  • 1 years’ experience in an engineering, heavy vehicle/PSV environment, dealership or fleet.
  • Strong mechanical skills & good technical background
  • Ability to diagnose and repair faults effectively and efficiently
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
  • Strong communicator with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel to various work locations

Desirable experience

  • Apprenticeship in a heavy vehicle engineering environment
  • PSV background
  • Electrical and/or Chassis experience
  • Experience in the Bus & Coach Industry
  • Experience dealing with Customers

 

The Offer

  • €42k Starting salary (OTE €50k per year with no overtime)
  • Monday to Friday, no shift work
