Inspection Manager

Our Principal Consultant Robin Thomas, is looking for a talented inspection manager to join one of the UK’s most respected precision engineering companies.

This unique and exciting opportunity invites you to bring your skillset to a cutting-edge precision CNC manufacturing facility based in Hertfordshire.

Our client is a supplier to many blue-chip customers, that serves a broad range of industry sectors including motorsport, robotics, aerospace, defence, space, medical & film.

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

• Delegation of workload to inspection personnel and machine resource
• Responsible for staffing levels within the inspection department
• Continuous drive to optimise the efficiency of inspection equipment and personnel
• Ensure all parts are programmed prior to first off inspection
• Motivating and supporting staff to complete work set including a drive to upskilling
• PC Dmis programming
• Manual inspection
• Liaise with workshop to ensure parts meet drawing requirements
• Liaise with production manager, to ensure all jobs meet delivery expectations
• Ensure quality expectations and KPI targets are met
• Enforce processes within inspection
• Responsible for cleanliness and tidiness of inspection
• Manage projects that are customer and internally driven
• Influence all members to achieve better

Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of ISO9001 and its requirements
• Previous experience within a similar work setting
• Well organise and good time keeping
• Ability to listen and retain information
• Methodical mindset and and high attention to detail
• Ability to lead and motivate within a team
• Analytical and problem-solving ability
• Planning and project management skills

Preferred 

• Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Engineering
• Knowledge of AS9100 rev D and its requirements
• Knowledge of ISO13485 (medical devices) and its requirements
