Field Service Engineer – North England

Overview

  • Field-based Service Engineer responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of hydraulic attachments used on excavators, cranes and material-handling equipment
  • Working on products including grapples, tiltrotators, quick couplers, shears, buckets and hydraulic tools
  • Covering North England

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and commission hydraulic attachments on customer machines (on-site)
  • Carry out service, fault-finding and repairs on hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Diagnose hydraulics and mechanical faults
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers and operators
  • Complete service reports, documentation and job records accurately
  • Liaise with internal teams (technical, parts, service coordination)
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety and customer service
  • Occasional travel with limited overnight stays

Essential Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics (hoses, valves, pumps, motors, cylinders, systems)
  • Proven experience as a Service Engineer / Field Service Engineer / Hydraulic Engineer
  • Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic and mechanical systems independently
  • Experience working on mobile or heavy equipment
  • Confident working on customer sites
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned region

Desirable Experience

  • Background in one or more of the following industries:
    • Construction equipment
    • Earth moving machinery
    • Agricultural machinery
    • Heavy Industries
    • Material handling equipment
    • Off-highway or mobile plant
  • Experience with excavator or crane-mounted attachments
  • Knowledge of tiltrotators, grapples, quick couplers or demolition tools
  • Previous OEM or dealer service experience
