This Business Line Manager role sits on the management team, reporting in to the GM. You’ll be responsible for the P&L and for creating and implementing a sustainable sales & marketing strategy to maximise consolidated profitability and long term growth of the Power and Flow arm of the business, further strengthening the firm’s market position.

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Devise a sales & marketing strategy for ‘Power and Flow’ current and future products
  • Develop and implement a go-to-market strategy for a new product line of pumps
  • Define an annual pricing strategy for direct and indirect channels, maintaining excellent price management in order to support profitable growth
  • Discount control and promotional activities
  • Build and develop the customer base in both direct and indirect sales channels though key accounts, distributors, and major users
  • Ensure an optimised product mix, giving each product it’s best chance in the market
  • Reduce and maintain outstanding debtor days to agreed levels
  • Ensure solid product training is in place for all sales engineers, support personnel and distributors/dealers
  • Attract, lead, develop, retain, and inspire a strong, top performing team for now and the future

Skills & Experience 

  • Relevant University degree or the equivalent knowledge through experience
  • Proven sales and management experience, with a competent level of technical knowledge in a related industry
  • Results driven, with a good understanding of financials, including reporting and KPI’s
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and influence a diverse range of people
  • Must be based somewhere commutable to Portsmouth, where the company’s office is located
