Technical Sales Manager – Power Generation

About the role

Osprey Engineering Solutions are currently hiring for a Technical Sales Manager on behalf of a well-established company within the power generation industry. They are looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a proven ability to win business. You'll be responsible for growing the sales of generators, power generation systems and project-based power solutions, working closely with customers to understand their needs and with our technical team to turn those needs into winning proposals.

This is a hands-on, end-to-end sales role. You'll own the full sales cycle, from identifying new opportunities and carrying out site surveys through to negotiating and closing profitable orders, before handing them over smoothly to the Projects and Operations teams for delivery.

Key responsibilities:

Business development and sales
Generate new sales opportunities and develop a strong pipeline across new and existing accounts.
Prepare accurate, competitive quotations and proposals for generators, power generation systems and project-based solutions.
Lead commercial negotiations and close profitable orders that meet agreed sales targets.
Identify opportunities to grow business with existing customers.

Technical and customer engagement
Undertake site surveys to assess customer requirements, site conditions and power needs.
Work with our technical team to develop practical, cost-effective solutions and proposals.
Act as a knowledgeable point of contact for customers throughout the sales process.

Relationship management
Build and maintain strong relationships with end users, contractors and consultants.
Represent Woodlands Power professionally at customer meetings and site visits across the UK.

Pipeline management and reporting
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in our CRM system.
Manage the sales pipeline with timely follow-up on all enquiries and quotations.
Produce realistic sales forecasts and report regularly on activity and performance.

Order handover
Ensure secured orders are handed over effectively to the Projects and Operations teams, with clear scope, specifications and customer expectations.
Support a smooth transition from sale to delivery so customers receive a consistent experience.
