Our principal consultant Robin Thomas is keen to discuss a great opportunity open to Services Engineers with a strong workshop background, to join a UK based manufacturer of precision-engineered pumps and associated systems, serving customers all around the globe. Our ideal candidate for this role is a fully qualified engineer with pump mechanical knowledge or experience.

Joining the company as a Service Engineer, you’ll oversee and take responsibility for all planned and reactive maintenance aspects associated with rotating equipment including; dismantling, inspection, reporting, assembly and testing of equipment, Predominantly based in the in the field with up to a third of your time spent working in the Belfast Service Centre. Your field work will include installation, commissioning, failure investigation and fire set servicing, across NI and ROI.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Servicing, installation & commissioning of varying types of rotating equipment including Pumps, Gearboxes, Diesel Engines, Turbines & Fans
- Fault finding on equipment returned to the workshop or during site attendance
- Understanding and working to Engineering drawings
- Interpret maintenance manuals of both OEM & non-OEM equipment, utilising specialist knowledge and standard test instruments and tools
- Compile detailed condition, inspection and daily update reports
- Liaise with Project Engineer, Engineering, Quality, Sales and clients to resolve unusual problems encountered
- Rebuild equipment in-line with defined work scope
- Provide regular support to the onshore Field Service team and occasionally as a second person to the offshore team
- Present a professional image, whilst supporting & promoting brand values
- Provide & share best practices relating to practical activities/skills
- Work with and support other company service centres
- Responsible for working parties during shutdowns
- Communicate with clients during workshop witness visits
- Contribute to the achievement of department KPIs
Essential Skills & Experience
- Time served Craft apprenticeship or relevant qualification to SVQ/NVQ Level 3 or 4 (A-Level to HNC or equivalent)
- Strong workshop background with experience of aftermarket services for the service & repair of pumps, valves, compressors & other rotating equipment
- Extensive knowledge of non-OEM rotating equipment
- Command of Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word & Excel
- Extensive knowledge on non-OEM rotating equipment
- Good problem solver
- Full UK driving licence
Desired Skills & Experience (training can be provided where absent)
- Understanding of electrical circuits and schematic drawing
- Working knowledge of low and medium voltage industrial control panels
- Strong background of diesel engine servicing and repair
